Anyone in the IT space will know, because you would've been told this repeatedly over the years: You're responsible for your own training. I've been in my current role since 2017. I interviewed for my current job at Rutgers when my twins were only 4 months old! The transition to being a family man kept me from skilling up for a few years.

Three Months to Certified

Scheduled for July 29, 2021

Anyone in the IT space will know, because you would’ve been told this repeatedly over the years:

You’re responsible for your own training.

I’ve been in my current role since 2017. I interviewed for my current job at Rutgers when my twins were only 4 months old! The transition to being a family man kept me from skilling up for a few years.

Well now it’s time I start looking towards the future. No matter what we do as a systems admin, the Cloud is Coming.

I’ve dabbled with Azure, but the motivation to get certified is going to start with setting a date.

So I did: July 29th, 2021. Three months.

I’m going to use this space to document my own learning journey on my way to AZ-104 Certification.

Why Now? I have a Voucher that Will expire, of course!

I took part in March’s Cloud Skills Challenge from Microsoft. Completing the modules for AZ-104 on Microsoft Learn earned me a free exam voucher.

I have to schedule the exam within 30 days of receiving the voucher — and those 30 days are almost up!

This means I do have a little bit of a start on studying. However, I’ve barely touched Azure in the month of April, so I still have a lot of catching up to do!
